During some parts of the year, this time zone matches up with places observing Pacific Standard Time (also known as PST). However it doesn't match up with the time offset of Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) when daylight savings is observed, because Penguin Standard Time remains as UTC−08:00 all year round.
